Introducing Sal Butter: Our New Soap Ingredient
We always aim to give you the best quality skincare products. Lately, the price of cocoa butter has increased a lot, making it hard for us to keep using it. So, we started looking for another great ingredient and found Sal butter. This new ingredient not only matches the quality of cocoa butter in the technical sense but is even be better in some ways. We’re excited to tell you more about Sal butter and why this change is good and will not impede the performance of the bar.  We’re excited to share more about Sal butter with you and reassure you that this change will enhance your soap experience. Sal butter has outstanding features. It is a good moisturizer and helps improve skin elasticity. The change to Sal Butter indicates that our products will still remain highly nourishing and of the same quality as those which you have always known us for. We did not make this decision in haste.
Why the Change?
We have found a new way to sustainably produce the soap without succumbing to the impossibly high rising cost of cocoa butter. Sal butter has recently come to our notice after a wide range of trials and examinations, as an excellent substitute that could match the cocoa butter quality or even outperform it.
What is Sal Butter?
Sal Butter is a type of fat derived from the seeds of Shorea Robusta.
The source of Sal Butter is the seeds of the Shorea Robusta tree which grows in India. It does not melt easily like cocoa butter; hence, it will remain more stable even in warm temperatures.. This alteration ensures that our products will retain their quality and function irrespective of the climate at the destination. In fact, due to this higher melting point, products with Sal Butter have longer durability than those with cocoa butter.
This old way of extraction has been practiced for generations by indigenous communities, who not only use it on their skin but also offer it for various medicinal purposes. The sustainability aspect ensures that Sal Butter remains a source of renewable energy thereby supporting both the environment and economies in these areas.
Nourishing Powerhouse
Sal Butter is an oily cream that contains essential fatty acids and antioxidants, consequently making it very hydrating to the skin. It can lock in moisture and boost the elasticity of the skin due to its emollients; hence, it’s mostly chosen by women with dry or sensitive skin types. Sal Butter is an excellent emollient meaning that it prevents moisture loss from occurring thus leaving a smooth and supple skin texture behind. It is therefore best for retaining moistness in the skin, particularly when living in cold or dry areas.
Highly Nutritious Content
Rich in vital saturated fats such as stearic acid and oleic acid, Sal Butter deeply nourishes the epidermis. Essential fatty acids are significant for maintaining natural barrier functions of dermal tissues leading to general healthiness of the whole body surface. Also present are vitamins E & A which protect against environmental damage. These vitamins help to improve the complexion of the skin.
Benefits of Sal Butter for Inflammation
This product has natural compounds like anti-inflammatory properties which can mitigate skin irritation and redness. Also, the anti-inflammatory characteristics of Sal Butter assist in soothing and relieving pain brought about by sunburns and insect bites. Even with this, its calming effects make it very convenient to have a broad range of skincare products addressing different skin problems.
It Moisturizes For A Long Time
Unlike most other butters, Sal Butter is famous for moisturizing without leaving oily residues behind. It easily penetrates into the skin providing continuous nourishment throughout the day. Therefore, individuals searching for a light non-greasy moisturizer capable of keeping their skin hydrated and healthy would prefer it.
The Value of Sal Butter in Soap
A substitution [from cocoa butter] to Sal butter would give us an additional 100g of butter per 1kg of finished product [so it’s a win in terms of cost] but, perhaps more importantly, a superior product in terms of soap quality [second win].
Improved Lather
Sal Butter’s innate saponification qualities create a richer, creamier, luxurious lather, making for a more pleasurable and deeper cleansing experience whether the bar of soap is for your body or is to be used on your hair as a shampoo.
Beneficial for Hair
If we use our soap as a shampoo bar, however, Sal Butter has the extra advantage of adding strength to the hair strands, not to mention reducing breakage and locking in that natural shine. It’s amazing moisturizing qualities help maintain a healthy scalp, an important part of keeping hair in optimal shape.
Sustainable and Ethical Choice
When we choose Sal Butter, we are opposing the monocropping of soybeans and we give value to the people who have participated in the collection and transformation of the seeds into oil and butter. This represents a consistency of our ethical sourcing strategy and environmental soundness.
Reassuring Our Customers
We know that any change in product formulations can cause some to be concerned, especially when taking out a favorite ingredient like cocoa butter. However, we want to reassure you that the replacement of Sal Butter is a positive swap. In our test batches, it’s every bit as good, if not better than before. We love the smoothness and lather of Sal Butter, and its incredibly moisturizing properties make it a win-win for everyone.
Looking Forward
Looking to the future We are excited to move forward formulating with Sal Butter as a major ingredient in our soaps. I believe this change will result in a better product for you and will continue to provide the luxurious, nourishing skincare you have come to expect from us. Thank you for the opportunity to continue to satisfy you with great soaps! We appreciate your continued confidence in us and the chance to win over new customers.
