Essential oils are all the rage and many people have jumped on the bandwagon to sell them. Our goal is to arm you with helpful knowledge so you can determine what is authentic and what is not. Unfortunately, there are vendors who attempt to pass off fragrance oils as therapeutic essential oils they are fake essential oils! . Understand that essential oils do not come from fruits, berries, melons and even certain flowers.

Fake Essential Oils

The following plants are incapable of producing an essential oil due to their biological makeup. Some of them can produce a marvelous cold-pressed oil, (coconut for example), but this is not the same thing as an essential oil. Cucumber extract (which we use) is a water, not an oil.

  • STRAWBERRY
  • BLUEBERRY
  • KIWI
  • CUCUMBER
  • BLACKBERRY
  • COCONUT
  • WATERMELON
  • HONEY DEW
  • CRANBERRY
  • POMEGRANATE
  • LILY OF THE VALLEY
  • LILAC

So, be careful out there, don’t be afraid to ask the vendor questions on the source and purity of what they sell.
